University of Wisconsin Student Settles Medical Malpractice Case
An exchange student from the University of Wisconsin-Superior has recently settled a medical malpractice case against a local doctor and hospital that was filed in United States District Court. The student was involved in a car accident where a deer ran into the car in which he was a passenger. After being taken to Community Memorial Hospital, he alleges that the treating physician and hospital staff failed to “timely establish and ensure [he] had an adequate and unobstructed airway” which led to oxygen deprivation to his brain. The settlement was reached in June and recently received court approval.
