Six-figure settlement awarded to victim of medical misdiagnosis
Paul Chung settled a medical misdiagnosis suit after a client underwent unnecessary surgery. Our client, a woman in her early 60s, had a stomach biopsy due to epigastric pain. The pathologist read the biopsy results as gastric cancer, and our client underwent extensive gastrointestinal surgery removing a large portion of her stomach and bowel, which left her with significant dietary restrictions. After the surgery was performed, it was discovered that the initial biopsy was misread and the client did not have gastric cancer as originally diagnosed. Paul Chung won the client a six-figure settlement shortly after filing suit.
