Widow files lawsuit against Michigan Hospital for Husband’s Death
A lawsuit recently filed in Kent County Circuit Court alleges negligent treatment that caused her husband’s death. The man went to Mercy Health’s Southwest Campus for complaints of shortness of breath, chest heaviness, and a fever. It is alleged that the man was ordered by a physician to be placed in the hospital’s telemetry unit where he would receive continual heart monitoring, but the orders were not followed and he did not receive such care. As a result, the man suffered a heart attack and brain damage that led to his death. The lawsuit alleges the death was caused by a failure to provide proper cardiac monitoring.
