$1 Million FTCA Case Settled in Virginia

In November 2014, Karl Protil was in Virginia where he helped settle a $1 million case involving the tragic death of a 19-year-old girl.
The victim was in the hospital 2 weeks after a misdiagnosis of a lung hemorrhage. Here, we proved that the doctors waited too long to obtain a pulmonary consult, and even discharged her when she was not stable.
This was a Federal Tort Claims Act case, meaning the $1 million settlement that we achieved was the maximum amount allowed by the U.S. Attorney.
