Medical Malpractice Suit Filed Over Joan River’s Death Against the Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic
Last year, Joan River’s sought treatment for a raspy throat and underwent an endoscopy, a routine procedure in which a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it is used to view the patient’s digestive tract. However, she stopped breathing during the procedure and suffered fatal brain damage due to lack of oxygen. Melissa Rivers has filed this law suit alleging that doctors negligently failed to identify that Rivers was not getting oxygen and failed to timely intervene and assist her.
