$3.3 million verdict in medical negligence case

HERBERT AND JENNIFER HOLLEY V. WILTON NEDD, MD In a 5 day contested trial, a District of Columbia jury returned a verdict against Dr. Wilton Nedd in the amount of $3.3 million. The case involved negligence by Dr. Nedd which resulted in the amputation of Mr. Holley’s leg. The jury agreed that Dr. Nedd was negligent and that his negligence caused the amputation. The allegation of negligence against Dr. Nedd were that he performed an unnecessary procedure, injured Mr. Holley’s artery and inadequately performed the repair, and subsequently did a bypass operation that fell below the standard of care. The trial concluded in June 2015.
